A Post for Grandparents

We've been home from Egypt for a week, but I feel like we've been on the go. I guess it's because we went to visit the Amman Citadel again this weekend. Here are a few pictures of our week. It's basically a post so I can show you how cute my kid is....mostly for his grandparents.

Jake has a bike. We've had it a while, but Grammy asked for some photos. He knows he has to wear his helmet and shoes to ride the bike. One morning, he woke Chris up at about 6 AM to go make coffee (it's their thing), and when Jake had enough coffee making, he apparently put his shoes and helmet on all by himself so he could ride the bike.

Walking on the train tracks. This is not the same kind of "playing on the railroad tracks" I did as a kid, but it's all he's got for now.
Nothing like a Batman shirt and water goggles in the middle of the day.

 These are rocket ships!
Playing at the park this week. The weather has started to cool down a little and the pool seems like it would be pretty cold so we just hang out at the park. He likes to climb inside this spiral thing and say "Don't worry Mommy!"

Jake just realized lately that while posing for a selfie, he can see the faces he makes and things he does. Same with mirrors, but selfies are more fun. Here are a series of photos he was "discovering" himself in...

 Pat my head.
 Pat Mommy's head.
 Squish Mommy's face.
"Hamber" or Hammer the wall.
We got him a Mickey balloon, which was supposed to be in exchange for a haircut. He sat in the chair and Chris went to buy the balloon, but when the guy started to put the cape on him and tried to strap him in the chair he wasn't having it. But Chris had already bought the balloon before he realized the haircut didn't work out.

But Jake loves the balloon and it traveled everywhere with us for a few days. It made two trips to the Embassy park, ate at the Blue Fig Restaurant, and to the Amman Citadel (see below).

Chris and I were kind of getting bored with the park, so we decided to visit the Citadel and let Jake walk and wander around the "Big Rocks!" And looking at the ruins never seems to get old for us either. It's kind of pretty with the clouds. Lately the weather is cooling and we have more days with clouds. All summer it was just perfect blue skies, but the clouds make a neat photo.

Came in the room from the back of the house and found Jake watching Curious George with his hands in his pockets like this. Love him!
